Thanks to the opportunities offered by the Italian colonies in Somalia and Ethiopia, the company of the founder Benvenuto grew significantly after the 1950s. In 1967 Forato became one of the largest trading points in the Treviso fruit and vegetable market; Floriano and Florio, grandsons of the founder, were an integral part of this success.

The expansion of the company starts from Asolo and is emphasised by the new strategic centres which facilitate widespread distribution throughout the region as well as outside Italy.
Other company offices are located in:
- Feltre for wholesale and retail;
- Country sorting centre with cold rooms and goods storage;
- Belluno, a strategic area for wholesale.
Leadership and internationalisation
Today the reins of the family business are in the hands of Ermenegildo and Ildebrando who, thanks to the solid foundations laid by the brothers Floriano and Enrico and the help of their nephews Federica, Riccardo and Fabrizio, work with companies all over the world. Forato spa and its solid family tradition combined with high-quality products reaches Spain, Holland, Germany, France and Argentina, becoming a central part of the import/export of fruit and vegetables.
